LATAM Accountant

Overview

Our client is seeking a LATAM Accountant to manage accounting transactions, ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards, and support financial operations in LATAM countries. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and third-party service providers to support month-end closing, tax compliance, and audit activities across multiple countries in the LATAM region.

Challenges you would face

  • Record and reconcile monthly accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations and IFRS/GAAP standards
  • Work closely with the billing team and local accounting firms for accurate transaction recording and invoicing
  • Use ERP systems (primarily Oracle) to record transactions, pull reports, and analyze General Ledger accounts
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing necessary documentation and managing audit timelines
  • Maintain internal controls to ensure integrity across all accounting processes and data
  • Direct activities for tax compliance, including preparing and filing business tax returns as needed

The ideal candidate

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting, with strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS standards
  • Proficiency in AP and accounting operations
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Fluency in Spanish and English with excellent communication skills
