Staff DevOps Engineer

Overview

Our client is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to lead the development and optimization of cloud infrastructure and deployment solutions for enterprise customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing scalable, secure cloud-based systems, supporting on-premise deployments, and improving CI/CD workflows. This role also involves mentoring other engineers and troubleshooting production issues to ensure optimal performance of mission-critical applications.

Challenges you would face

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure cloud-based infrastructure on AWS
• Automate operational processes using Terraform and manage Docker Compose, Docker builds, and CLI tools
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis for production and self-hosted issues
• Collaborate with development teams to support new feature implementations
• Mentor engineers on best practices, tools, and technologies

The ideal candidate

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, System Administration, or related fields
• Strong expertise in containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, EKS)
• Extensive experience with Linux/Unix systems administration
• Proficiency in scripting languages (primarily shell scripting)
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and New Relic
• Solid understanding of networking, security best practices, and firewalls
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and GitOps practices
