Principal

Overview

Our client is seeking a Principal to join their Venture Capital team and lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of investment opportunities in innovative startups. This role requires working closely with founders, supporting portfolio companies' growth, and contributing to the fund's overall strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investment analysis, strategic decision-making, and a deep understanding of the startup ecosystem.

Challenges you would face

• Identify investment opportunities through networks, events, and relationships with entrepreneurs and investors
• Conduct due diligence, including financial, market, product, and team analysis, and prepare investment memos
• Lead investment negotiations, manage deal terms, and oversee transaction execution with legal and financial advisors
• Provide strategic and operational support to portfolio companies, including financial planning, product development, and exit strategies
• Represent the fund in the startup and venture capital community while building relationships with co-investors and key stakeholders
• Collaborate with Managing Partners to define investment strategies and identify new focus areas for the fund

The ideal candidate

• 5+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, strategic consulting, or startup roles focused on strategy, growth, or business development
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related fields
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in evaluating investment opportunities and financial modeling
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-uncertainty environment
• Passion for innovation, startups, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem
